The SME from Ulyanovsk, Cyber Systems Development, Ltd, in the partnership with an Israeli company and a German institute, developed an innovation product «DSUNDT» (Distributed System for Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Tomography) in the area of ultra sound defectoscopy – a distributed system for ultra sound diagnostics with 3D visualization of defects. The project won the Innovation Call of the ERA-NET RUS Initiative. The project on creating the test version of DSUNDT system was completed in 2014. The next stage is to determine the commercial model for application of this product and its launch to the market of ultra sound diagnostic systems.
The partners in Germany and Israel were found through the support provided by the Russian Technology Transfer Network and its member ULSTU Technology Transfer Centre (Ulyanovsk). Due to the support of the FP7 project ISTOK-SOYUZ, where NP RTTN was a partner, a representative of Cyber Systems Development, Ltd. took part in the brokerage event ICT-2010 (Brussels, October 2010). This enabled the face-to face meetings with the potential partners –ScanMaster-Irt, Ltd (Israel) and University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (Germany), where the agreement was reached about the joint application to the ERA-NET.RUS Call.
The ERA.NET RUS initiative, where DSUNT project received funding, was aimed at linking Russia to the European Research Area through implementation of Joint Calls for excellent transnational research projects in the fields of applied science. Each project consortium comprised at least one team is from Russia and two partners from European countries that took part in the initiative (Germany, Greece, Turkey, Israel and Switzerland).
The funding bodies for the call were: RF Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE, Russia); Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, Germany); General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT, Greece), Israeli Industry Centre for Research and Development (MOITAL, Israel), Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK, Turkey), University of Geneva – Swiss Leading House for Swiss-Russian scientific cooperation.
