The Russian Federal Agency for Science & Innovations agreed to hold, in 2008, 2 joint Energy Calls and 2 Biotechnology Calls, to be cofinanced from EC FP7 and the Federal Target RTD Programme for priority areas of development of Russia in 2007-2012. Agreed topics are: "Heat and power co-generation from biomass" and "Innovative operation and monitoring tools for large power systems". Participants being established in the EU or in an associated country may jointly receive up to EUR 2 million from the European Commission, and the Russian partners may jointly receive up to EUR 2 million from the Federal Agency for Science and Innovation. The project duration is normally 3 years.
