ESOF 2014 is a biennial, interdisciplinary, pan-European general science meeting, which aims to showcase the latest advances in science and technology, promote a dialogue on the role of science and technology in society and public policy and stimulate and provoke public interest, excitement and debate about science and technology.
Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) is Europe’s largest and most prestigious general science conference. It takes place every second year in a major European city. In June 2014 the conference will take place at the exciting and inspiring facilities of the Carlsberg City Area, one of Copenhagen’s most vibrant urban areas. The conference is organised by the Danish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Higher Education and is supervised by the undersigned, who have been appointed champion of the event.
ESOF 2014 Copenhagen will be a unique opportunity for leading scientists, young researchers, students, industry, policymakers, journalists and the public to discuss new discoveries and debate the direction that research is taking within all scientific disciplines. ESOF 2014 Copenhagen is designed as an open platform for debating science and as a showcase for cutting-edge European and global research. The scientific programme is accompanied by an ambitious outreach programme designed for attracting the attention and excitement of citizens and visitors, including a special programme for the younger generation.
ESOF 2012 Dublin reached a level of attendance of 4500 participants, including 400 accredited journalists, 900 speakers and exhibitors, several Nobel laureates, ministers for Science and members of the European Parliament. ESOF2014 takes place Saturday 21st to Thursday 26th June 2014 and the event will also attract leading decision-makers from within science, industry and policy and generate extensive media coverage.
