IX International Symposium on Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis 1 - 5 July, 2007, Dijon, France.
The International Symposium on SHS is held every two years to address both fundamental and application issues of exothermal synthesis and processing of materials.

The previous meetings were held in:Kazakhstan (Alma-Ata, 1991) Russia (Moscow,1999), USA (Honolulu, 1993) Israel (Hajfa, 2002), China (Wuhan, 1995) Poland (Cracow, 2003) , Spain(Toledo, 1997) Italy (Cagliari, 2005)
This symposium is now one of the most important events in SHS science and technology.
The Ninth International Symposium on Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis will bring together experts from all over the world to exchange information on key topics including:
1. Combustion theory and modelling;
2. Structural macrokinetics of SHS processes;
3. Synthesis of ceramics, intermetallics and composites by SHS;
4. SHS processing of powders, items and coatings
5. Non-traditional SHS processes (SHS in thin films, SHS in shock waves,mechanochemical SHS, environmental SHS, field assisted SHS, etc);
6. Industrialization of the SHS processes.
