A university has developed and patented an express method for monitoring the state of gas well casings during gas production in the gas fields. The method allows to quickly and reliably identify the loss of stability of a production well casing and take measures to secure its stability. The technology solves the problem of a loss of stability of gas well casings during their operation. To ensure the safe operation of gas wells casings, it is necessary to periodically monitor their technical condition. Such control can be carried out by various methods - with the help of visual inspection, measurement of deflection with deflectometers, control of the upper part of the section near the wells. Despite the variety of methods used for monitoring gas wells casings and the tasks solved with their help, the speed of determination, accuracy and reliability of the results obtained do not always meet the requirements. During the development of the technology, the university established diagnostic criteria for determining the stability and integrity of well casings using the method of identifying standing waves from the accumulated amplitude spectra obtained during observations on the casings of gas wells, control of the length of the gas well casing and confident identification of the stability loss of the object under study is achieved. The method works as follows. A special sensor is installed on the surface of the gas well casing. Standing waves are recorded with a sensor for 5-60 minutes (express method). Promptly process the received data and make a conclusion about the integrity of the gas well casing. The technology belongs to the field of geophysical methods for monitoring the state of gas well casings during their operation. The method is applicable to various structures and can be used for diagnostics of pipeline supports, detection of underground voids and in structures of buildings, diagnostics of the state of stability of bridges, etc. The university can provide services for assessing the stability of gas well casings, the stability of buildings and structures, bridge pillars and other similar structures. In addition, the university may enter into a commercial agreement with technical assistance to provide technology transfer services, including method implementation, training and consulting of partner personnel. The innovative aspect of the technology is based on a method for distinguishing standing waves in the accumulated amplitude spectra obtained during quite short-term observations on the strings of gas wells.
