Proposed projects should consist of partners from at least 3 different BRICS countries. The funding for project participants will be provided by their respective national funding organization.

A Joint Application Form (JAF) is to be submitted in English through the online submission form at the official web-site of the Programme.

The applications are to be submitted till 28 November, 2017.

In addition to the JAF, each national team of a project shall submit an additional national proposal to the relevant national participating funding organization following all required procedures of each particular organization.

National funding organizations may have their own deadlines for submission of extended applications – generally, about a month longer.

Based on the results of the evaluation, a joint decision by the participating funding organizations will be made regarding the selected proposals to be co-funded.

Thematic areas:

• Prevention and monitoring of natural disasters
• Water resources and pollution treatment
• Material science including nanotechnology
• New and renewable energy, and energy efficiency
• Information technologies and high performance computing
• Biotechnology and biomedicine including human health and neuroscience

You can use a technological network platform "BRICS-TTN" to search for foreign partners for technological collaboration and initiation of joint applications for the call.

Recommendations on the formation of a project proposal can be found at site

It is to be mentioned that formation of a multinational thematic consortium takes, generally, 3-8 months; so we recommend starting this activity long before a call is announced.
