On September 19, 2014, in St. Petersburg, a master class was given dedicated to the programmes supporting the research and technological cooperation between Russia and the EU: Horizon 2020, Eureka, ERA-NET, Federal Target Programme "Research and Development 2014-2020". The event, attended by over 60 representatives of innovative SMEs and research organizations, was supported by BILAT-RUS Advanced project.

  Anton Yanovsky, Project Director of the Russian Technology Transfer Network, made a review of international programs supporting research and technology cooperation between Russia and the EU. He also presented the statistics of RF participation in the 7th Framework Programme. Russia is a leader among "third countries"; the total funding received made $ 67.5 million euros.

  Within the review, the project BILAT-RUS Advanced was presented, which is a part of the special EU programme BILAT. The overall strategic objective of the project BILAT-RUS-Advanced is to facilitate the science-, technology- and innovation cooperation between Russia and the EU. European competitiveness shall be supported through strategic partnerships with Russia on a bilateral level and on the basis of mutual interest and benefit.

  Eva Fadil, Project Management Consultant at inno TSD, presented the general terms of participation in "Horizon 2020"- the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.

  The Russian Federal Target Programme "Research and development in the priority areas of RF science and technology complex for 2014-2020" was presented by Irina Sharova, the Deputy Head of the Russian National Contact Point on Biotechnologies.

  In the second part of seminar, Gennady Pilnov, Executive Director of the Russian Technology Transfer Network, presented the examples of successful research and technology cooperation between Russian and EU SMEs and R&D organization.
